The Q7 has an illustrious place in Audi’s history. The Q7 enters its all-new third generation for the 2027 model year, boasting a ground-up redesign and some massive improvements over the previous model year. Some key features include: 

• New engine options: the meat-and-potatoes Q7 gets a more powerful V6 motor as standard equipment, while the SQ7 receives a souped-up version of the almighty V8 engine. 

• A new look: The fascia and hood have been lifted to give the front end a higher and more imposing presence, and new air intakes have been added. The wheel arches have been widened, and the shoulder line has been altered. New exterior elements like the S line black are now available. 

• A revamped panoramic sunroof allows even more natural light exposure inside the cabin. 

• Newly available automatic doors for increased comfort and convenience. 

• New exterior lighting features, including the available Digital Matrix LED headlights, newly designed taillights, and optional door-mounted projection lights. 

• Updates to the MMI® panoramic display for a more intuitive and driver-centric experience. 

• A passenger display screen now comes standard. 

• A factory dashcam system is now standard in most trims. 

• An upgraded Bang & Olufsen sound system is now available in most trims. 

The standard powertrain in the Q7 at launch now consists of a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, which cranks out an impressive 429 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. This represents an immense increase in power compared to the previous generation and allows it to do an Audi-estimated 0 to 60 time of just 4.8 seconds, making it one of the speediest in the three-row SUV club. As always, quattro® all-wheel drive comes standard. 

The engine for the SQ7 has been beefed up as well. The 4.0-liter V8 engine now puts out 591 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, giving it an even faster acceleration time of 0 to 60 in just 3.7 seconds. 

Like the previous generation, both models are capable of towing up to 7,700 pounds when properly equipped. The standard suspension can also be upgraded to adaptive air suspension for a smoother ride on long road trips and backroad excursions. 

Until the arrival of the much-awaited Audi Q9, the Q7 remains the largest Audi SUV available in the U.S. It comes standard with seating for 7, and it can be optioned with second-row captain’s chairs for heightened passenger comfort.

The Q7 has a number of other available upgrades, including the Audi assistant powered by ChatGPT’s AI, a head-up display, a factory-installed dashcam, and a 22-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium sound system, which has been improved for an even better listening experience compared to last generation. 

Historically, the Q7 has been one of the safest SUVs in its class. It’s consistently gotten a 5-star rating from the NTHSA, and it’s won a Top Safety Pick award from the IIHS for four years running.
